Document Redesign Exercise
The purpose of this exercise is to gain practical experience designing documents with MS Word.
Scenario
You are a newly hired personal assistant for Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who, unbeknownst to the world, is making amazing breakthroughs while completing his Ph.D. degree in high-energy particle physics. "The Situation" has given you this MS Word file — Muon-Gluon Supersymmetry in N-Space.doc — containing a complete, academically brilliant, but badly formatted and entirely unreadable paper. Your job is to keep the content unaltered and reformat the document, using what you have learned about document design principles and MS Word's functions.
Deliverable (1)
Download the MS Word file "The Situation" gave you, and save it as an MS Word 2003 file, using this naming convention:
YourLastName - SectionNumber - Doc Redesign
for example...
Schultz - 835 - Doc Redesign
Reformat the document, using what you have learned about document design principles and MS Word's functions. If desirable elements of good document design are missing, create and insert them.
Make the document look tidy, readable, highly professional, and interesting. Specific instructions are on the document itself.
The redesigned document does not need to be perfect, but it does need to be competently redesigned.
Submission Requirements
Use HornetMail or an email account with a professional address and email me (arnett2010@gmail.com) the reformatted document as an MS Word-format attachment. Use this subject line, including the spaces:
